Here are some additional factors to consider before registering for the camp.
Participant Requirements
An essential prerequisite to attend camp is the individual’s desire to independently ride a two-wheel bike and motivation to participate daily. Please take pause and reflect on your prospective camper’s readiness to ride a two-wheel bike prior to completing and submitting the application. Our goal is to help as many campers as possible to successfully achieve independently riding a two-wheel bike during the weeklong camp. In addition, riders must meet these requirement for participation:
There are three, 75-minute sessions each day scheduled for after school hours. You will be asked to select the session that works best for your family. The sessions are:
Camp Registration Information
Registration for iCan Bike Camp - Bloomington is based on balancing each camp session with individuals of varying ages and abilities. The bike fleet includes various size bikes that are available during camp sessions, and a balance of campers is scheduled for each session to assure the best fit for each camper. The camp maximum capacity is 24 riders who apply and meet the iCanBike Camp participant requirements.
Session availability and placement is on a first come, first served basis and must follow the iCan Shine requirements for acceptance and session assignment. Full payment is required to reserve your spot, and there are no refunds unless there is a waiting list for your participant’s particular session. You will receive an e-mail confirming your rider's acceptance into the camp along with his/her session time within a few weeks of application submission.
Registration Deadline
Applications accepted until camp is full (24 campers maximum). Individuals are enrolled based on achieving the right mix of age/abilities for each session on a slots available basis. Once the sessions are full, a waitlist for eligible applicants will be maintained based on the order the applications are received and accepted. If an opening becomes available, you will be contacted immediately.
Refund Policy
Refunds are contingent on replacing the camper with a new participant. All refunds are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.

- Minimum of 8 years of age
- With a disability
- Able to walk without assistive device
- Able to sidestep to both sides
- Minimum inseam of 20”
- Maximum weight 220 lbs.
- Willing and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet
- Able to attend camp all 5 days
- Is motivated and has the desire to learn to ride a two-wheel bike
- Maintain contact with bike pedals
- Maintain contact with handlebar
- Keep head up and look forward
- Has adequate strength to maintain riding speed
- Has adequate stamina to ride 75 minutes daily with short breaks for 5 consecutive days
- Follow basic instructions in a small group setting
- Has a personal bike suitable for learning
- Have the opportunity, immediately following the camp week, to practice bike riding
- Good attitude
- Comfortable clothing
- Tennis shoes for bicycling
- Water bottle
- Bike Helmet
- Properly fitted two-wheel bike
